On March 6, 2025, Dr Ralf Harskamp and other participants of the DCVA Leadership Program organized a network event, bringing together healthcare professionals, policymakers, and experts to discuss the future of cardiovascular care. With the theme "Pushing Boundaries in Cardiovascular Care: Building a Healthy Future Together," the event focused on opportunities and challenges in improving patient outcomes and collaboration within the healthcare system.

Keynote speakers Floortje Scheepers and Monika Hollander opened the discussions, setting the stage for a deeper exploration of innovative care models, prevention strategies, and the impact of screening. Panelists Karien Stronks, Sjoerd Repping, Lilian Lambrechts, Maurits van der Veen and Erik van Duin shared their expertise, addressing the complexities of cardiovascular healthcare and potential pathways for improvement.

A major focus was on enhancing primary care, where heart patients often have their first interaction with healthcare professionals. How can referrals, follow-ups, and collaboration between providers be optimized? How can the burden of heart and vascular diseases be reduced by 25% by 2030? These questions guided the discussions, fostering an exchange of ideas aimed at shaping the cardiovascular care of tomorrow.

The event encouraged open and constructive dialogue, bringing together diverse perspectives to explore both challenges and solutions. To capture the key insights, panelist and patient representative Lilian Lambrechts created a visual summary, serving as a powerful reflection of the discussions that took place.
